1 pint oysters
1/2 lb butter
2 cups cracker crumbs
5 cups white sauce

Directions:
Directions:
Make white sauce. Cook oysters in 1/2 lb butter for 10 minutes. Make layers of cracker crumbs, butter and oysters,and white sauce in casserole. Top with buttered crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

I generally use 1 3/4 stacks ritz crackers with 2/3 cups crumbs on bottom, 2/3 cups crumbs in middle and 2/3 cups crumbs on top with 1/2 of the sauce over the bottom and 1/2 of the sauce over the middle layer of crumbs This was typically served at holiday time and was Steves favorite..
