1 cup sugar
1 3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg beaten
1/2 cup oil
1 cup thinly sliced apples
1/4 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients in large bowl. Mix eggs milk and oil in a small bowl. Mix liquids into dry ingredients, fold in apple slices. Bake in one 9x5 loaf pan or divide among small loaf pans. Bake at 325 for 1 1/4 hours for large loaf or 50-60 minutes for small loaves.

This apple bread recipe is from the Chieftan Restaurant, a very popular restaurant in Wenatchee in the 1960’s -1980's, a small loaf was served with every meal.
