2/3 c. shortening
1 lb. pkg brown sugar
3/34 c. egg whites or 3 eggs plus 1 T. water
2 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 c. nuts
1 pkg. choc. chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar and add eggs. Add sifted dry ingredients. Add vanilla, nuts, and chocolate chips. Spread very stiff batter on large jelly roll pan or 9x13 plus square pan. Bake at 350º
for 25-30 mins. Cool and cut into bars.
