1 c. yellow cornmeal
1 c. flour
1 c. milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. oil
1 1/2 c. cream style corn
1 lb. ground beef- browned and drained
1 lg. onion- chopped
1 lb. cheddar cheese
5 canned jalapeño pepper or green chilies, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Combine cornmeal, flour, salt, soda, and baking powder. Add beaten eggs, milk, oil, and corn. Mix well and set aside. Grease a 2-qt. casserole pan and dust with cornmeal. Pour half of corn bread batter into dish. Sprinkle ground beef over batter, then onion, peppers, and cheese. Top with remaining cornmeal batter. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes or until done.
