Pudding:
4 cups bread cubes (4 to 5 slices)
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Sauce:
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. bourbon
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Pudding:
Turn oven on to 350º
Spread bread cubes evenly in a 8-inch square baking dish.
Combine sugar, raisins, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt, sprinkle evenly over bread cubes.
Set aside.
Place milk and butter in a 4-cup glass measuring cup, place on a glass tray.
Microwave at high for 3 to 4 minutes until butter is melted.
Rapidly stir in eggs with a fork and blend well.
Add vanilla.
Pour milk mixture over bread cubes.
Bake 45-55 minutes until golden brown and the center is set.

Sauce:
In a 1-quart casserole, combine brown sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon.
Combine water and bourbon, gradually add to the sugar mixture, stirring until smooth.
Microwave at high for 3 to 4 minutes or until thickened, stirring twice.
Add butter and vanilla and stir until blended.
Serve warm.
