½ lb cooked pork or chicken, diced
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
¼ head of cabbage, shredded
1 teaspoon ginger
2 to 3 tablespoons of ketjap manis (sweet soya sauce)
½ cup of chicken broth
4 to 5 strips of bacon, cut into small pieces
2 to 3 stalks of celery, chopped
½ teaspoon of sambal oelek (more or less according to how hot you like your food)

(You can buy the sambal oelek - Indonesin hot pepper - in the grocery store in the international or Asian section. It is made by Conimex.)

(Ketjap manis = sweet soy sauce is available in the International or Asian section of most supermarkets)

Fry the bacon until crispy, add onions, sambal oelok and garlic and brown. Add ginger, cabbage, celery and broth. Simmer until the cabbage is cooked about 10 minutes. Add in the meat and cook til meat is heated through. While this is cooking, cook about ½ package of broad egg noodles. When the noodles are ready, add to meat mixture.
